A cryptocurrency wallet is software or a physical device which stores your cryptocurrency and contains the public and private keys needed to access your funds on the given blockchain.
A cryptocurrency wallet allows you to send and receive cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. A wallet is needed when converting your fiat funds into crypto via Coinify so that we know where to send your newly bought cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency wallets come in many forms, from hardware wallets to mobile apps and each wallet type has different levels of security, reliability, usability, etc.
Since Coinify does not provide wallets, users who want to buy cryptocurrency through Coinify must have their own external wallet.
A wallet address is a string of letters and numbers, with no spaces or symbols, from which cryptocurrencies can be sent to and from. Each wallet address is unique and there is no other wallet address like it. It is the unique identifier for your account on the blockchain, similar to a bank account number.
How do I find a wallet address?
You can find your wallet address by logging into your wallet app and clicking on the "Request" or "Receive" button and your wallet address will be shown afterwards. Please note that each wallet app offers different ways to scan, share or copy the wallet address. After choosing your preferred option, paste the address at the required place in your order. You should never type your wallet address manually, the smallest mistake in your receiving address can cause that the funds to not be received.
If you are not able to find your wallet address, please contact your wallet provider for more information.
